Friendaughter

Gisele is a dear friend of mine. Actually, she’s my friendaughter.
She stars this clip which was made by Tulio here in Curitiba where we can see Tanguá Park and the sunset at one of the city’s big avenues. The musicians are Curitibanos who got together to form a band after having come back from London.

Dr.Seuss'

One day, making tracks in the prairie of Prax, came a North-Going Zax, a North-Going Zax and a South-Going Zax… a North-Going Zax and a South-Going Zax... And it happened that both of them came to a place where they… bumped! There they stood, foot to foot, face to face.

"Look here, now!" the North-Going Zax said, "I say! You are blocking my path. You are right in my way. I'm a North-Going Zax and I always go north. Get out of my way, now, and let me go forth!"

"Who's in whose way?" snapped the South-Going Zax. "I always go south, making south-going tracks. So you're in my way! And I ask you to move and let me go south in my south-going groove."

Then the North-Going Zax said with north-going pride. "I never have taken a step to one side and I'll prove to you that I won't change my ways if I have to keep standing here fifty-nine days!"

"And I'll prove to you," yelled the South-Going Zax, "That I can stand here in the prairie of Prax for fifty-nine years! For I live by a rule that I learned as a boy back in South-Going School. Never budge! That's my rule. Never budge in the least! Not an inch to the west! Not an inch to the east! I'll stay here, not budging! I can and I will if it makes you and me and the whole world stand still!"

Well... of course the world didn't stand still. The world grew. In a couple of years, the new highway came through, and they built it right over those two stubborn Zax and left them there, standing unbudged in their tracks.

do you remember it?

I walk along the avenue
I never thought I'd meet a girl like you
Meet a girl like you
With auburn hair and tawny eyes
The kind of eyes that hypnotize me through
Hypnotize me through
And I ran
I ran so far away
I just ran
I ran all night and day
I couldn't get away
A cloud appears above your head
A beam of light comes shining down on you
Shining down on you
The cloud is moving nearer still
Aurora Borealis comes in view
Aurora comes in view
And I ran
I ran so far away
I just ran
I ran all night and day
I couldn't get away
Reach out a hand to touch your face
You're slowly disappearing from my view
'pearing from my view
Reach out a hand to try again
I'm floating in a beam of light with you
Beam of light with you
And I ran
I ran so far away
I just ran
I ran all night and day
And I ran
I ran so far away
I just ran
I couldn't get away

O Eco Silencioso

Fazem-no

M. Scott Peck's

Whenever we seek to avoid the responsibility for our own
behavior, we do so by attempting to give that responsibility
to some other individual or organization or entity. But this
means we then give away our power to that entity.

Intl women's day

.
.
The day is ours... we love you...
sons, friends, lovers, fathers, brothers.
For us and for you, a bunch of flowers
and a couple of lines for its celebration.
.
.

Nem a estação, nem a viagem.

A poesia, meu irmão, é a paisagem.

for you, friends

Meus queridos amigos/alunos, aqui está para curtir e praticar!

Things

Every night I sit here by my window (window)
Staring at the lonely avenue (avenue)
Watching lovers holding hands 'n' laughing (laughing)
And thinking 'bout the things we used to do
(Thinking of things) Like a walk in the park
(Things) Like a kiss in the dark
(Things) Like a sailboat ride
(Yeah-yeah) What about the night we cried?
Things like a lover's vow
Things that we don't do now
Thinking 'bout the things we used to do
Memories are all I have to cling to (cling to)
And heartaches are the friends I'm talking to (talking to)
When I'm not thinking of-a just how much I love you (love you)
Well, I'm-a thinking 'bout the things we used to do
(Thinking of things) Like a walk in the park
(Things) Like a kiss in the dark
(Things) Like a sailboat ride
(Yeah-yeah) What about the night we cried?
Things like a lover's vow
Things that we don't do now
Thinking 'bout the things we used to do
I still can hear the jukebox softly playing (playing)
And the face I see each day belongs to you (belongs to you)
Though there's not a single sound and there's nobody else around
Well, it's-a just me thinking of the things we used to do
(Thinking of things) Like a walk in the park
(Things) Like a kiss in the dark
(Things) Like a sailboat ride
(Yeah-yeah) What about the night we cried?
Things like a lover's vow
Things that we don't do now
Thinking 'bout the things we used to do
And the heartaches are the friends I'm talking to
You got me thinking 'bout the things we used to do
